Collier Responds to $1 Billion Tax Increase
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio—Thom Collier, candidate for State Senate in Ohio’s nineteenth district, responds to the passing of HB 318, a nearly $1 billion tax increase on hard working Ohioans.
“Ohio is heading on the wrong track. We are losing jobs and people to states with a much better tax climate,” said Collier. “In tough economic times the people of Ohio cannot afford to have the government taking more of their hard-earned money. During my time in the legislature I helped reduce income taxes by twenty-one percent and introduced a bill that would have abolished the state income tax. In this situation, we should cut spending and let the people have more control of their personal finances. When issues similar to this arise in the future, the people of the nineteenth district can be sure that Thom Collier will be fighting on their side.”
